Learning Resource Center (LRC)Learning Resource Center (LRC)

Welcome to the Learning Resource Center – the epicenter of Ridge’s energetic, vibrant,  21st Century learning environment! Our mission is to cultivate curiosity, encourage students to dig deeper to enhance their learning, and provide the flexibility to learn anywhere.
Sharing great books with students and helping them become fluent, enthusiastic readers of stories and informational text is at the heart of our Library activities.  We enthusiastically support classroom teachers in their curriculum and classroom activities through close collaboration and support. Flexible scheduling for grades 3-5 , means the Learning Resource Center becomes an extension of the classroom and provides more opportunities for authentic learning. Students come whenever they need to exchange books, conduct research, collaborate and create.

Collaboration, creativity and communication is enriched by access to a wide variety of technology/media tools both in the classrooms as well as the Learning Resource Center. Our 21st-century K-5 learners creatively communicate their understanding and demonstrate their knowledge using a wide range of technology and  media tools.

Students, staff, and parents are all encouraged to come to the Learning Resource Center to use our resources, check out books, seek research and media assistance, or simply … READ!

Our blog “Stories from the Learning Resource Center” will keep you up-to-date on student activities.  For more details on all LRC events and activities, please visit our wiki.
