Letter from the Principal

Letter from the Principal

Samantha Stone Thumb 2

Dear Parents,

Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year at Ridge Family Center for Learning.

My name is Samantha Stone, and this is my first year as Principal at Ridge. I am honored to be a part of the Ridge family, and as a new member, I strive to be an integral part of every student’s life. The home and school connection is strongest where social emotional growth is every bit as important as academics. This school year brings change as we transition back to in-person learning, and we will do our best to make it a seamless transition.

This will be my 22nd year in education, having just finished my time at Robert Crown School in Wauconda as an assistant principal. I began my career as a teacher in middle school, where I taught Social Studies, Reading, and Language Arts. After obtaining a Master’s Degree in Reading, I became a Reading Specialist for kindergarten through fifth grade.

Our district mission is “Preparing Students to Be Successful for Life,” and we do just that for the approximately 280 students that Ridge serves. Our talented, dedicated staff creates an environment that supports our school mission by “Growing Strong Minds, Strong Bodies, and Caring Hearts.” Ridge is a school of choice that strives to be innovative and encourages children to try new practices to be successful in their learning and life. We are a school for kindergarten through fifth grade that any student in the district can attend if there is space available.

I look forward to meeting every Ridge student and family while working together to help your child be successful. Please feel free to contact me at any time.

Sincerely,

Samantha Stone
