The Hub
test
The Hub blends the wide-ranging resources of the Library with the creative resources of our Makerspace. Our mission is to cultivate the natural curiosity and creativity of students in an exciting, and flexible learning space that builds knowledge and community.
Our Library activities help students become fluent, enthusiastic readers of stories and informational texts. We actively support teachers in their curriculum and classroom activities.
Our Makerspace provides resources and support as students construct knowledge in powerful, tangible ways. Hand tools, batteries, motors, Legos, Arduinos, robotic materials and two 3D printers are just some of the tools students employ as they develop and test their ideas, draw conclusions, and share experiences and knowledge in a collaborative learning environment.
Flexible space adapts to a variety of needs and uses – individual work, small or large group activities or events like our annual Battle of the Books, the Poetry Café, as well as classroom special events/activities.
Flexible scheduling makes The Hub an extension of the classroom. It provides greater opportunities for authentic learning as students come whenever they need to exchange books, do research, collaborate and create.
Our hub of learning inspires students to explore, discover, create, collaborate, communicate, and READ!
