Additional Staff Resources for Students

Carol Brickley

ELL Resource

Mrs. Brickley provides small-group, math and reading instruction for current and former ELL (English Language Learner) students in third, fourth, and fifth grades. She manages the district’s paperwork for all ELL’s in the building and can answer questions regarding students’ ELL files, ACCESS testing and data, and instructional programs for ELLs at Ridge Family Center for Learning.

Lisa Richardson

Behavior Intervention Facilitator

Mrs. Richardson provides behavioral support to students, teachers, and staff, creating a positive school climate. Behavioral support at Ridge looks many different ways. It may look like a student participating in a small group for social skills, doing Check-In/Check-Out, or ringing the Cowbell for great bus behavior. For teachers it may be a consultation for transitions or revising a behavior plan. For staff, it may be sharing referral data or teaching behavioral strategies. PBIS Universal and Secondary teams meet regularly to review SWIS Data and decide how to improve the school climate. Use of Raptor Rewards reinforces the positive shown at Ridge and are cashed in at the monthly “store” or raffle. For more information on Ridge’s Behavior Expectations Contract and PBIS, please refer to the Ridge Behavior Handbook.

Jeanine Vaughan

Instructional Resource Reading/TDP

Mrs. Vaughan’s role at Ridge is to support student literacy. She works with small groups of K-5th grade students using a resource model and the RtI model of interventions. She supports the building assessments and analyzes data to make team decisions about which interventions to use. In addition to supporting struggling readers, she is also the TDP (Talent Development Program) resource teacher. This program formally begins in 3rd grade and continues to 5th grade and into the junior high schools. She can answer questions and concerns about assessments such as; MAP, Aimsweb, and Cogats and can also explain the RtI model and interventions.
